About Us
The Network of Evangelical Women in Ministry is an international, non-profit membership organization. Our purpose is to provide resources, spiritual enrichment and networking opportunities for women in ministry.
Who are these women in ministry?
They are pastors’ wives. They are leaders of women’s programs in their churches. Sometimes they are both! They are women who are attempting to train Bible Study leaders. They are women who work in their communities by supporting recovery centers and centers for the disabled. They are women who are working hard to teach our children and our grandchildren values and morality and counsel young women in troubled marriages.
A woman in Loveland, Colorado, provides Bibles and a Bible Study for women on the Oglala Lakota Indian reservation in South Dakota. A woman in South Africa offers women with no physical or spiritual resources a retreat where they can get both. One supports a girl’s school in Guatemala and another runs a prison ministry based in the Inland Empire of California.
These women in ministry represent the thousands of women who work tirelessly in their churches, homes and communities trying to make a difference in a society that has forgotten who God is. They are women who support their pastors and the vision they have for their churches.
What the Network of Evangelical Women in Ministry provides:
Creative Seminars that offer leadership tools and spiritual enrichment.
Half-day and two-night retreats that refresh and challenge.
Free resources through our website that offer personal enrichment and training.
Regional meetings where leaders can come to a safe place and share their challenges.
Biblically centered and encouraging conferences.
A scholarship fund that enables women leaders in small churches to benefit from our retreats and seminars.
The Network of Evangelical Women in Ministry came about from one person's vision and need. Susan Kimes, then newly appointed Director of Women at Calvary Church in Santa Ana, California, gathered women leaders from about forty-five churches in the Orange County area to share ideas, resources and encouragment. The meeting took place in July 1987.
Statement of Faith
1. We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
2. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. We believe in His pre-existence, His incarnation, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, His bodily resurrection from the grave and His personal return from heaven.
3. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who convicts, regenerates, baptizes, indwells, gifts, enlightens and empowers believers for godly living.
4. We believe in the Trinity and unity of the Godhead.
5. We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, both the Old and the New Testaments. We believe it is the sole and final authority for all Christian life and practice.
6. We believe all people were created in the image of God, all sinned in Adam and are now sinners by nature and by choice.
7. We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human merit, works or ceremonies.
8. We believe the church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the Head, both eternally and functionally.
9. We believe in the resurrection of the human body, the eternal existence of all to either heaven or hell and we believe in divine judgments and rewards.
